Rising for Animals in Crisis

Fénix Animal Project bridges the gap between animal rescuers and the people who want to help them. Created in response to the 2026 earthquakes in Venezuela, Fénix is building a global network to mobilize support for animals in times of crisis. With every disaster, our database grows—connecting rescuers around the world with the resources, donors and volunteers they need, when they need them most.

Animal Help Guide

What to Do When You Find or Lose an Animal

Step-by-step guidance for the most common situations.

I Found a Stray Animal

Approach slowly and calmly, crouch down, avoid eye contact, let the animal come to you.
Check for a collar or ID tag. Note the breed, color, sex and any markings.
Take a clear photo immediately, this is the most important step for identification.
Post a Found report here on Fenix Animal Project right now, it takes two minutes.
Share the photo on WhatsApp neighborhood groups, Facebook local groups and Instagram with the location tagged.

🆘 The Animal is Injured

Do not move a seriously injured animal unless it is in immediate danger (e.g. middle of the road).
Stay with the animal and keep it calm. Cover it with a shirt or blanket to reduce shock.
Call the nearest veterinary clinic or animal rescue organization, use our directory to find one.
If you must transport it, place it in a box lined with soft cloth. Support the body, not the legs.
Do not give food, water or medication without veterinary guidance.

My Pet is Lost

Post a Lost report here immediately with the most recent clear photo you have.
Share the post to every WhatsApp group you are in, neighborhood, family, friends. This is the fastest way to find a lost pet.
Walk the neighborhood calling the animal name, especially at dawn and dusk when animals are most active.
Visit local animal shelters and veterinary clinics in person, bring a photo. Do this within 24 hours.
Offer a reward in your listing. It significantly increases how many people actively look.

️ I Want to Help Animals

Donate to a verified organization in our directory, every amount helps, especially for food and medicine.
Volunteer your time, transport or skills, use the Volunteer form to connect with organizations that need you.
Foster an animal temporarily, many shelters are full and need foster families urgently.
Share this site and the Lost & Found listings on your social networks, visibility saves lives.

Earthquake Emergency. First 72 Hours

If you had to evacuate and leave your pet behind, go back as soon as it is safe, animals often stay near home.
Approach traumatized animals very slowly and from a low position, earthquake stress causes even calm animals to behave unpredictably.
Do not move a seriously injured animal unless it is in immediate danger, wait for a vet or rescuer if possible.
If your animal is trapped in rubble, mark the location clearly and contact a rescue org immediately, do not attempt to dig alone.
Post a Lost report on Fenix NOW with the last known location, the first 48 hours are critical for recovery.
When vets are overwhelmed, focus on water and keeping the animal calm and still, stress worsens injuries significantly.
